ANTHRAX Drummer Jams With DREAM THEATER In Chicago
March 19, 2006According to a BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor who attended DREAM THEATER's concert at the Congress Theater in Chicago, Illinois Saturday night (March 18),ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante "came out for the drum solo before intermission and shared the kit with Mike [Portnoy, DREAM THEATER drummer]. The dueled each other, went through various covers ranging from TWISTED SISTER, VAN HALEN, SLAYER, IRON MAIDEN and many more. It was the best solo I have ever seen (Lars [Ulrich] should have been there taking notes). We were also treated to a MAJESTY song and a 'Falling into Infinity' outtake. Utterly amazing."
DREAM THEATER's very last show of the band's 20th Anniversary Tour 2005/2006 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Saturday, April 1 will be recorded and filmed for an upcoming 20th anniversary DVD and CD release. The band are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Octavarium", which came out in June 2005.
